City of Phoenix Fire Station 43 Static Analysis

Phoenix, Arizona

The project objective was to evaluate possible causes of electrical static buildup and discharge at City of Phoenix Fire Station 43. To accomplish this, qualified representatives of CRE conducted a site visit with a certified electrical testing firm that included the following: observation of existing building grounding and bonding systems, including verification of grounding systems, grounding connections and proper grounding methods. Services entailed conducting appropriate tests of the existing grounding system to ascertain its condition and identify any potential deficiencies using the following testing methods: fall-off-potential testing on the main grounding electrode per IEEE Standard No. 81;  two-point method testing per IEEE Standard No. 81 to determine ground resistance values between the main grounding system and all major electrical equipment frames, system neutral and/or derived neutral points; and Electrical Magnetic Field (EMF) testing and modeling.
