Segment 1, and 3; Transit Centers at 19th Ave. and Montebello, Central and Camelback, and Sycamore and Main St., Northwest Light Rail Transit Extension – Phoenix, Glendale and Mesa, Arizona
CREs involvement in the light rail project consisted of providing the streetlighting design along the light rail’s route as well as providing the design for the communications system wide ductbank. The streetlighting design consisted of new lighting placement, existing light relocation, and existing light removal based on a design criteria provided by the City of Phoenix, Valley Metro Rail, APS, and SRP. Our lighting design had to adhere to a strict design criteria as well as fit in with other lighting aspects on the light rail segment such as station platform lighting and lighting provided by traffic signal personnel. CRE was also involved in developing the Valley Metro Rail Light Rail Standards in 2005.
